Moving out of the classroom

Hello!
I've just been promoted up to Senior Deputy Head in my school after 20 years of full-time classroom teaching.  I've been lucky enough to work in two wonderful, but very different, schools and have a wealth of experience I'd like to share.  I was also privileged to be asked by Moray House to be an Associate Tutor for three years and saw a number of students safely through their training year.
I'm not going to blog a lot tonight, just wanted to set this up.  I'm hoping to give advice and support to anyone who wants to be a teacher or who is currently teaching.  I still have one class on my timetable so I'm still at the chalk-face for a small fraction of the week and  like to keep up-to-date with new ideas - so I'm also hoping for advice and support from others!
I've recently started a 'learning lunch' at school where a number of staff get together and discuss teaching ideas and share positive events from the week - makes a change from some of the school politics I'm sure we all have to deal with now and again!
Anyway, nice to meet you if you are reading this - I'll follow any educational blogger so if you are one of those, leave me a wee note and I'll check out your page.
Thanks,
Donald Shaw
